Who am I?

I’m so excited to have you here as part of this journey. This channel isn’t just about me—it's about us—a space where we can learn, grow, and connect as we explore new opportunities together. Whether you're just starting out in your career or making a major transition, I want to create a community where we can all support each other.

But before we dive into everything this channel has to offer, let me take a moment to introduce myself properly. My name is Wilson Chow, and my story might just be a little different from what you might expect.

I started my career as a finance journalist. Sounds a bit dry, doesn’t it? But honestly, it was one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences I could have had. I spent years in the world of economics, personal finance, and investment trends, covering everything from fintech to petroleum, telecom, utilities—you name it! Over the years, I had the chance to interview thousands of companies and speak with some of the brightest minds in business.

It was in this world that I learned the true power of storytelling. The ability to take complex financial data and turn it into something that anyone could understand and connect with—that was my sweet spot. I realized early on that storytelling wasn't just for books and movies—it was a skill that could be used to educate, to inspire, and to bring people together. 

But even with all that knowledge and experience, there was one thing that I always knew deep down—I wanted to start something of my own. The dream of launching a business had always been in the back of my mind. However, at the time, I wasn’t sure if I was ready to make that leap. I thought I still needed more experience, more connections, more knowledge. 

And then life surprised me.Most recently, I spent five years in the jewelry industry as Head of Business Development. A complete pivot from finance, right? But that’s what I want to share with you—the lessons I learned about taking bold steps, stepping outside of your comfort zone, and how one career can set you up for the next, even if it doesn’t look like a direct line. 

In that role, I dove deep into branding, marketing, and consumer engagement. I learned how to connect with people not just through a product but through a story that resonates with them emotionally. That’s when I realized—this is exactly what I want to do next: I want to share my story and help others do the same.

So, what’s this channel all about?

"Starter" is a word that speaks to where I am in life—at the beginning of a new chapter. And "Wilson" is, well, me. I wanted to name this channel something that reflects both my passion for starting new ventures.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of learning from many different industries and perspectives. But now, I want to bring all of that knowledge, experience, and insight to you. Whether you’re looking to switch careers, start a business, or just figure out where you want to go next in life, I’m here to help. This channel will be a mix of personal stories, practical advice, and interviews with people who inspire me—and I hope they inspire you too.
